POPULAR DEMAND. Glasgow's Big Heart took Wullie McSorley and his family to itself. Many
identified with wartime Glasgow.... the rationing, the blackout and camaraderie of living
up a close. |
 |
| `Happy landings' was Paras
Over The Barras, Part Three. So many folk were disappointed that man-hungry Ina
McLatchie hadn't captured the 'affections' of grumpy Wullie McSorley. He had almost
proposed one night during an air raid but nothing came of it. Clippie Rita and her
boyfriend, Rasputin Plunket, had wed and Big Sammy, Annie's `man', had escaped from a
Japanese prison camp but is expected to be dropped over occupied France once again... this
time wearing parachute! Life's going on in Glasgow's Wartime Calton district and Ina
McLatchie is not a girl to give up... especially when she gets an encouraging message from
beyond the grave. |
| Fingers McGeachie, the
likeable rogue, is still up to his nefarious activities. And how do you keep in business
when your petrol ration has run out and you have `deliveries' to make? That's the problem
facing undertaker Curdy McVey! |
