Glasgow’s top stars are to appear on stage at a special benefit night for one of the city’s best-loved entertainers.

Pop stars such as Marti Pellow and Midge Ure will appear on the bill at the Pavilion theatre in Tribute To Tiger Tim.

All proceeds will go to a special benefit fund to send veteran DJ Tim Stevens, who is battling multiple sclerosis, to Poland for radical new treatment.

Also on the bill will be Tony Roper and Gerard Kelly, who will appear as Francie and Josie, and Tam Cowan.

The glittering event, on Saturday, May 15, promises to be one of the best variety shows in the theatre’s history.

Pavilion boss Iain Gordon said: “There are few people as popular in Glasgow as Tim Stevens.

“When I heard that Tim was having to raise £9,000 to pay for his treatment, I figured it shouldn’t be down to him to pay this sort of money out of his own pocket, so I offered up the theatre for a special show.

SUPERB show, ALL of the performers were top class with Marti Pellow and Wet Wet Wet being the highlight for me! I travelled from Penzance (554 miles each way) and had a bit of a nightmare to get home due to flight cancellations but I wouldn't have missed it for anything! Special mention to all of the Pavilion staff who were fantastic, very friendly and courteous, nothing was too much trouble! I hope to visit the Pavilion again in the future!
Lynn Roberts from Penzance

What a great night on Saturday 15th May 2010. The Pavilion management would like to thank everyone involved in the production, from the organisers, Tommy and Billy to all the performers, crew and staff who all made this show happen. It was a great day for everyone backstage who just got on with the job and all ego’s were left at the stage door. On behalf of the Pavilion I thank everyone, performers, crew, staff and most of all the audience who gave generously on the night and I am sure they got great value for money. To see Tim’s face light up with the message from Sir Paul was worth it alone and with all the audience standing at the end of the night while the Tiger’s final song played throughout will remain with him forever. It showed just what the Tiger meant to the West of Scotland. What a cast ! What a night! Iain Gordon General Manager.
IAIN GORDON from GLASGOW
