Bev Bevan’s The Move
The Move were one of the finest and most contradictory groups of the sixties. A successful string of memorable hit singles, all written by Roy Wood, were set against a brutal, dynamic and musically thrilling live act.
Formed during an impromptu after-hours jam session at Birmingham’s legendary Cedar Club in October 1965, the original Move was made up of members of the cream of Brummie bands: Bev Bevan, Carl Wayne, Chris “Ace” Kefford (Carl Wayne & The Vikings), Roy Wood (The Nightriders), and Trevor Burton (Danny King & The Mayfair Set.) Rick Price and Jeff Lynne joined during The Move’s later years, before the group morphed into the Electric Light Orchestra.
Bev Bevan’s The Move
Move drummer Bev Bevan has now joined forces with some old friends to form the Bev Bevan Band.
The Bev Bevan Band is: Phil Bates (guitar, vocals), Phil Tree (bass,
vocals), Neil Lockwood (keyboards, guitar, vocals), and Bev on drums and “chat.”
The shows are a mix of rock, blues, pop and soul from the 50’s thru present. (Yes, they will be performing some Move songs!) Each night’s set list will be different, with surprises along the way.
