Country Legends
Now in its 8th year the award winning Solid Gold Country Legends has proved popular on both sides of the Atlantic. On 19th September (2009) the show was awarded Best Event at the British Country Music Awards.
Solid Gold Country Legends brings you the perfect mix of old and new country hits from the classics of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette and Garth Brooks to name just a few.
Songs featured in this special evening of country music include Billie Jo Spears Blanket On The Ground, Johnny Cash’s Ring Of Fire, Dolly Parton’s Jolene and Kenny Rogers’ Lucille among many others.
All the songs performed during the evening have achieved Gold Disc status for record sales, so Solid Gold Country Legends recreates some of the finest Country Music ever produced.
The host of the show is Bristol-born Randy Ryman. He started his career singing and playing guitar in touring bands, mostly in Eastern Europe and the Alpine Ski resorts. His slick linking ability and smooth vocal tones are sure to be appreciated by his British fans.
The vocals are led by Country Stars Jeanne Jordan and B J Thomas.
Jeanne has been singing professionally since the tender age of 13. She was introduced to country music by the famous Gibb brothers (Bee Gees), while living in Los Angeles, where she was present at the recording of Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ hit ‘Islands In The Stream’, she has recently appeared on a major arena concert tour and also stared in the hit musical “Dolly: The Show”. BJ joined his first professional country band at the age of 16 and has had many hit records over the years. Together BJ and Jeanne have toured the world, visiting over 20 countries with their Solid Gold Country Legends show.
Joining them on this hand-clapping, foot-stomping journey into the best of country music are the brilliant Outlaw Country Band, which features the guitar talents of Paul Reaney, born on the Wirral, Paul can also play the Dobro, Banjo and Mandolin.
Other notable performers featured include keyboard player Iain Bradshaw, who has worked and toured the U.S. with Billie Jo Spears, also Charlie Landsbrough and the Sarah Jory Band and drummer Steve Warby. The band also features up-and-coming young guitarist and vocalist Luke Thomas who is already making a name for himself among British country music fans.
Add all this together with lots of stunning costume changes, a large slice of fun and an amazingly authentic Country Barn stage set and you have a great night of solid gold country music.
