Panto – Santa Claus is coming to town – Cancelled
In regards to this year’s Pantomime. We think that we have always been realistic in terms of this production but had to wait to see how things progressed but feel that the time is right now to make a decision and unfortunately, we are extremely disappointed to announce that we will now have to cancel this for the safety of all our customers and staff as it is evident just how this virus can return and spread quickly, especially in close contact areas such as theatres.
We are sure, like us, you will all be disappointed as the Pavilion Panto is for a lot, the family day out with a lot of families returning year on year.
However, we are delighted to announce that we will return next year with one of our favourites; The Magical Adventures of Cinderella, which enables us to keep the cast together and ‘Lockdown’ ticket prices. We will be issuing a priority link via e-mail to those who have booked for Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, which will enable those who had the best seats to get these again from Monday 24th August before going on sale to the general public from Monday 21st September 2020.
With regards to your tickets purchased for Santa Claus is Coming to Town, this year’s Pantomime. It has become clear to us, having drawn on previous experience with cancelling or rescheduling shows, especially during the Sauchiehall Street fire closure two years ago, that the best thing to do for everybody is to have a clean start and refund all tickets. This gives customers back their money at a time where money is important but also is the ability to purchase right away if they chose to do that.We appreciate that some customers have made comments about keeping their tickets to be used for next year but this never really works for a long running show as dates and days never really work out as per the original booking. Refunds will commence from Monday 24th August 2020.
If you purchased your tickets by card online or via telephone, then we will process this refund directly onto the card you used for the original purchase. Refunds will take up to 7 working days to appear in your account.
If you paid at the theatre in person via cash or card, please contact our box office staff to arrange a suitable refund. Unfortunately, as some of our staff are working remotely and the theatre is closed to the public, we cannot process cash refunds and can only offer, for original cash customers, a refund by cheque, bank transfer or direct refund onto a credit or debit card.
We would like to finish by giving you some GREAT NEWS! So that you are not missing out on a Pavilion Panto, we are going to get the cast together and rehearse the Panto ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’, film it and make it available to view online via YouTube on Christmas Eve. So, it is time to get the popcorn in and get all the family around the telly on Christmas Eve and get involved in the panto.
To help us do this, we are launching a Crowd Funding page soon and hope everyone can help us to pay the cast, crew and staff and we are sure we can create a bit of Pavilion Panto magic to your living room this Christmas. Please keep an eye on our social media pages for more information soon.
It’s the Night Before Christmas and two excited children, Hev and Kev say goodbye to their parents who have won an all expenses Christmas cruise for two to Lapland. Mum and Dad decide it’s too good an opportunity to miss and call upon the services of Nanny Nae Nonsense to look after the mischievous kids, who also celebrate their birthday on Christmas Day.
But things take a turn for the worse when two bumbling burglars Hank and Marvin plan to kidnap the children and hold them to ransom. Help is at hand from Santa’s little helper, Elfie the Selfie ably assisted by the Magical Fairy Bell but time is running out as they must find the children and return them home safely for the arrival of Santa Claus.
It’s pantomime at its very best in true Pavilion style, full of slapstick fun and traditional Christmas Songs including – Jingle Bells, Lonely This Christmas, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, White Christmas, I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day, Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, Jingle Bell Rock, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Please Come Home for Christmas, and of course Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town!
Here is what our customers thought the last time
Tickets are now on sale so this is your chance to get the very best seats for your friends and family!
